Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM)
Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM):
It’s a broad use term for describing the different symptoms that women can experience in the menopausal years.
These symptoms include:
- Genital symptoms: vaginal dryness, vaginal itching, vaginal burning.
- Urinary symptoms: urinary frequency, urinary urgency, urinary tract infection, burning during urination.
- Sexual symptoms: painful sex usually due to vaginal dryness and narrowing of the vaginal canal.
We use the CO2 vaginal laser to help with the remodeling of the vaginal tissue, which helps with vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, and urinary symptoms. This is a great option for women who are not candidates for hormone replacement therapy.
