Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM):

It’s a broad use term for describing the different symptoms that women can experience in the menopausal years.

These symptoms include:

  1. Genital symptoms: vaginal dryness, vaginal itching, vaginal burning.
  2. Urinary symptoms: urinary frequency, urinary urgency, urinary tract infection, burning during urination.
  3. Sexual symptoms: painful sex usually due to vaginal dryness and narrowing of the vaginal canal.

Many, many, many treatment options are available. Women do not need to suffer in silence from GSM.
One treatment option that has been found to be effective not only in research but also in my personal practice is the vaginal laser.

We use the CO2 vaginal laser to help with the remodeling of the vaginal tissue, which helps with vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, and urinary symptoms. This is a great option for women who are not candidates for hormone replacement therapy.

Check out this article from sciencedaily.com for more information on laser therapy and how it might be able to help you.
